Ready to boost your style but don’t know where to start? If you feel like your style is stuck in a rut and you’re ready to mix things up and try something new, then the good news is that there are plenty of options available to you.

You could try slashing the hemline of your favourite skirt, adding length to your locks with a certified human hair wig, or buying yourself a new piece of statement jewellery. Small changes can make a big impact, and they don’t have to break the bank. Trying new things can be fun and exciting, and the good news is that because none of these changes are permanent, you can be as bold as you like when trying new things.  With this in mind, here are some top tips for updating your wardrobe, your hair, and even your beauty routine to ensure you look better than ever this season:

Move Your Parting

Changing the way you part your hair is a great way to give your locks an update without having to go to the hairdressers. Most of us have an established parting in our hair and never think about the impact this has on our face shape and overall look. Not only will this add volume to the roots of your hair (making it look like you’ve been for a professional blow dry without spending a penny) it will also draw the attention of all your friends, who will probably know you’ve done something different, but not be able to put their finger on what it is!

If you want an even more dramatic update to your hair without cutting it (because we understand how daunting losing length from your hair can be) then why not consider a certified human hair wig? These can add length to your hair in a heartbeat that would take decades to grow naturally! Wigs and hair extensions are also easy to handle, and you can heat treat and curl them to completely change their look and impact, without having to worry about causing any damage to your natural hair.

Choose a Signature Accessory

Whether you rarely accessorise, or like to mix up the accessories you wear on a regular basis, why not use your accessories to define your look by creating a signature style? Pick your favourite type of accessory (whether that’s oversized earrings or statement necklaces) and start wearing it as often as possible. This will quickly become your signature accessory that will define you and your whole look.

The best thing about having a signature accessory is that you will still look stylish and put together, even on days where you dress down. Adding an oversized necklace to a simple white tee and jeans, for example, will look instantly chic and stylish. You’ll be amazed by how stylish and powerful you feel when you have a signature look, and your friends will quickly pick up on the new fashion-forward pieces that you are wearing on a regular basis.

Wear Red Lipstick

Even if you don’t have the time or energy to wear any other make-up, adding a slick of red lipstick to your lips will instantly elevate and update your style. You’ll look stylish and well put together in a heartbeat. Many women are frightened by red lipstick: it’s bold, it’s bright and it’s a big change if you’ve never worn it before. But the truth is that red is one of the most universally flattering and wearable lipstick shades that you can choose.

The key to picking a red lipstick is to choose the right shade.  Reds that are more blue-based are flattering on all skin tones, and they will also help to make your teeth look whiter at the same time. As an added bonus, because red lipstick is such a bold and eye-catching choice, wearing it can help to disguise any other fashion mistakes that you might be making. Even if you’re wearing leggings and a pair of trainers for the early morning school run, red lipstick will help to pull your look together.

Clear Out Your Wardrobe

Did you know that most of us wear just 10 percent of our wardrobes 90 percent of the time? The problem with having a wardrobe full of pieces that you never wear is that it’s hard to cut the wheat from the chaff and find those beautiful gems hidden behind the pieces that don’t fit or don’t suit you.

If you want to give your look an instant update then you may be surprised to find that the new piece you’ve been looking for is already in your wardrobe. To find it, you need to clear out your wardrobe and take anything that you don’t wear to your local charity shop. Be ruthless. If it doesn’t fit, doesn’t suit you, or you haven’t worn it for at least twelve months then cull it. It may be hard to part with those items that have sentimental value, but if you don’t then you will never be able to put together a simple, capsule wardrobe of high quality pieces that you really love.

Not sure where to start? At the very beginning! Tip out every piece in your wardrobe on your bed and go through it, piece by piece, dividing your clothing into items that will stay and those that can be given away. Try to be honest with yourself about what you will and won’t wear and try to get rid of as much as possible.

Paint Your Nails

In 2016, for the first time ever, sales of nail polish outstripped sales of lipsticks in the UK. Taking time out to paint and preen our nails has become a little luxury that many women enjoy, and it will instantly make you look polished, stylish and well put together. Painting your nails may seem like a minor details, but your nails actually say a lot about you. The colour you choose will reflect your personality and can be used to inject a sense of fun into any outfit. If you like to look pretty and coordinated then you can match your nails to your item, and if you want to show your sense of fun and style then a vibrant neon blue or yellow will really say a lot about you. Have a passion for fashion? Warm brown shades are bang on trend this year, and subtle grey hues are also universally flattering, designed to go with everything.

Think About Colours

Throw open your wardrobe doors and look carefully at your favourite clothes. What colour clothing do you have the most of in your wardrobe that immediately make you feel happy? For a lot of us, the base colour we lean on is a neutral shade such as black, brown or gray. These colours aren’t the ones you’re looking for now though.

If, when you look at your wardrobe, you find that you have a non-neutral shade that seems to be taking up a lot of space then that is your signature colour, and the one you should look out for when you hit the shops. By identifying your signature colour, you will be able to quickly and easily put together outfits that you might never have thought of before. This will also save you time when you’re shopping, helping you to make a beeline for the colours that you wear most and which will suit you, and ignore the ones that you don’t tend to own or wear.
